about

thought i'd publicize this after sitting on for over 6 months.

this work is essentially a long and drawn out atmospheric sound collage, most probably overstaying its welcome for the vast majority of potential listeners. it is not "meant" to be consumed as an active listening experience but rather as a soundtrack to when immersing in holocaust and world war 2 studies.

created, approximately, between spring 2017 and autumn 2019 in tandem with periods of semi-maniacal reading and meditating on the Holocaust and its broader historical context, obsessed with trying to understand it, not only from a political and historical perspective of course, but also, and perhaps mostly, from a psychological, phenomenological, philosophical, sociological and even theological view-point.

i stress that this is not some entertainment thing, its not some trivialization.

I found this work of PASSIONOISE personally to be terrifying, sometimes beautiful, emotionally crushing when played loud in headphones while on a strong dose of acid and while simultaneously watching harrowing polish masterpiece "ostatni etap" from 1947. ostatni etap is a polish movie depicting the terrors of auschwitz, directed by an auschwitz survivor, filmed partly in the goddamn camp itself, and with an all-polish holocaust/world war 2 survivor cast, it is a very very powerful film experience.

the creator of this work encourages any potential listener to let this fall upon your ears while watching ostatni etap on a serious dose of some potent hallucinogenic, and to focus on the experience of it with all your heart. if there is any fucking humanity in you, it'll shake your to your fucking core, believe that.

it shook my very foundation - but i am heavily invested in these historical events on an emotional and even a spiritual (and theological) level i think. probably more so than the average joe.
i have been obsessed with the study of what i would indeed call the most concentrated, dense, intense, destructive, inhuman, sadistic, malevolent and apocalyptic inferno man has ever created, which was the Eastern Front in world war 2 across the parts of Europe constituted by Poland, the Baltic States, Belarus, Ukraine and European Russia. A vast, vast majority of the soldiers dying in the European theater of world war 2 and the vast, vast majority of Holocaust victims died in this defined geographical region between 1941-1945.

It is a work of remembrance and of honest adulation for its heroes, victims and martyrs.

i hate that i feel stressed to mention it but of course this is not some "pro-NS" creation or some "holocaust denial" shit, just take a closer look at the titles and stop being a wilful fucking retard.

this is naive, outsider, amateur, lo-fi. it is all of those things. but it is sure as fuck is serious, reverent and authentic as well.
