an homage to my Uppland, one of Sweden's 25 provinces, with Uppsala as its main city. Sweden's provinces hold no administrative or official function, but are important in the context of Swedish cultural history, historiography and regional identity. it pertains to dialects, folklore, cuisine, local industry, natural geography and various other things contributing to this cultural regionalism. People identify a lot with these regions.

I have lived my whole life in Uppland, and have a strong bond to it through blood and soil. Uppland has a rich and powerful history and has been a cornerstone of the Swedish Nation for at least 1500 years, and its Indo-European predecessors have inhabitated these fertile coastlands of lakes, forests and fields of rye many thousand years more than that.
